Position Overview:
The Sr. Manager of Business Strategy & Analytics will be responsible for working cross-functionally to drive commercial results & revenue optimization for our Olympics businesses. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, hands-on technical data manipulation & analysis, and stakeholder management to balance the financial objectives of the event with the goal of maximizing fan engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop and manage of sales & revenue reporting suite – building out reports for users across all levels of the organization – from executive stakeholders to functional area team members.
- Collaborate with Product, Ticket Operations and Pricing on development and maintenance of reporting on current inventory, pricing and sales.
- Collaborate with Ticket Operations, Sales Operations, Finance and Tech on data governance practices to ensure timely & accurate reporting.
- Drive automation efforts across processes & reports within the Strategy & Analytics and pricing departments.
- Develop AI/ML models to help understand and predict sales activity.
- Revenue Optimization:
- Support departmental focus on pricing & inventory planning & execution including development and maintenance of models for sales forecasting, pricing analysis, product release strategies, and in-cycle calibration efforts – collaborating directly with Product and Pricing teams to maximize overall revenues.
- Collaborate with Product, Pricing, Marketing and Sales teams to optimize go-to-market processes and create, maintain and service demand across multiple channels to drive incremental revenue and margin above forecasted baselines.
- Serve as a day-to-day strategy & analytics partner for the pricing team – tracking and analyzing real-time inventory, revenue and marketplace trends to inform go-forward pricing and inventory recommendations.
- Sales Channel Strategy & Optimization:
- Support scenario planning around sales channel optimization efforts through the development of dynamic models & forecasts
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on sales channel effectiveness and efficiency to support on-going sales channel strategy development.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Support risk assessment to ticket sales & profitability. Assist in developing & implementing risk mitigation strategies to protect event profitability by monitoring sales & cost performance throughout the event lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Management
- Support the development of key internal and external stakeholder deliverables – memorializing strategy, outlining playbooks, and garnering internal and external stakeholder buy-in
- Support on-going partner management across our external sales channels – serving as a lead resource for our sales partnerships team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in revenue management, commercial strategy, or business analytics preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.
- Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, Looker, or similar, and proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in predictive modeling, revenue forecasting, reporting and financial modeling, with proficiency in relevant tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics and competitive positioning in a global context.
- Proficiency in telling stories with data – creating BI reports that enable real-time business decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic, player-coach approach to working across the team to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
- Adaptable, dynamic approach – with the ability to bring creative thought to complex problems.
Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. $101,250 annually
Hiring Range Maximum:
$135,000 annually
