Wasserman is looking for an analytical Associate Director with experience and passion for Formula 1 to use his/her innate problem-solving skills to lead the development of ideas and strategic plans for a blue-chip brand client. With a focus on brand and sponsorship strategy, this position involves conducting relevant and insightful internal and external analysis, identifying and communicating influential business implications, creating compelling storylines and recommendations, and developing/managing business partnerships to ensure client satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to a Senior Director, this person will collaborate with teams across the agency and an integrated agency team to provide solutions and drive results. Successful candidates have proven skills and can quantify success in consulting-related projects within a professional services environment, using creative thinking and individual initiative, including the following:
- Strong ability to independently disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
- Synthesize significant amounts of information, conduct analyses, and develop influential storylines and presentations (e.g. strategic plans, market landscapes, partnership point of view reports, etc.)
- Use forward-thinking initiative to identify the best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client
- Prioritize and handle multiple tasks, researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters
- Coach and collaborate with peers who assist with the work, including providing coaching, feedback and guidance on work performance
Client Responsibilities:
- Understand the landscape for our clients’ business and sector(s), as well as the industry contexts for their investments.
- Develop detailed strategic and tactical roadmaps that align the day-to-day focus to the strategy. This includes driving project management efforts, determining critical milestones, guiding internal parties to meet them and reporting progress in a timely manner.
- Lead client work as an expert in analysis and methodology by creating appropriate sponsorship and governance models.
- Monitor and analyze ongoing sponsorship and market trends within sports, entertainment and lifestyle. Translate the key insights and learnings into strategic recommendations.
- Conduct and assess primary and/or secondary research.
- Build relationships with clients and partners to identify new opportunities to grow revenue with targeted focus on strategic insights, business planning, and program analytics.
- Responsible for developing and delivering client strategy documents and presentations to various levels of management, including C-level.
- Manage work plans, client expectations, partner relationships, measurement and reporting tools, and anticipate challenges across various entities to ensure flawless execution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Direct experience or knowledge of the Corporate Sponsorship industry
- Experience working in Formula 1 preferred
- Proven account management skills required in order to create, maintain, and enhance client relationships
- Innate curiosity, proactive thinking and ability to think creatively when planning strategy, taking into account client objectives, key insights, and practical parameters
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated poise and confidence—experience collaborating with and presenting to senior level executives
- Entrepreneurial, self-starter mentality with the ability to operate at a high level and drive decisions
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead, mentor and grow a diverse and fast moving team through clear and consistent communication of the organization’s vision, goals and expectations and by actively managing individual staff performance
- Base-level knowledge of syndicated research tools (e.g. Nielsen, PMB/Vividata, Scarborough, GWI) in terms of use and application
- Easily able to communicate technical and analytical content in an understandable way
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; able to communicate with impact and effectiveness at all levels of an organization
- Meticulous, quality-oriented and highly committed; able to work effectively with a diverse group of team members
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines
Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:
- 9+ years relevant experience with minimum 5 years of direct experience in strategic brand, sponsorship consulting, and/or insights & analytics functions
Minimum Degree(s) and Certification(s) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in business and/or marketing
- Desirable: MBA
Base salary range: $100-120K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
