Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on, strategic Procurement Leaderto lead our procurement function in a fast-paced, project-driven, manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong leader who can drive sourcing excellence across tactical operations and project execution while shaping procurement strategies that align with company goals. You'll lead a high-performing team, run RFP events, optimize supplier relationships, and ensure we stay agile and efficient in meeting project and production demands.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the tactical procurement team, fostering accountability, agility, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage procurement activities across project lifecycles and manufacturing workflows, ensuring timelines, quality, and cost targets are met.
- Own and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including full-cycle RFP/RFI/RFQ processes for key categories and suppliers.
- Partner with project managers, engineering, production, and finance to proactively support material and service needs.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to deliver optimal cost, risk, and performance outcomes.
- Track and report key procurement metrics (cost savings, supplier performance, PO cycle time, etc.).
- Support supplier onboarding and qualification in coordination with quality and engineering teams.
- Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, tools, and policies to support scalability and responsiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA or certifications like CPSM/CIPS preferred).
- 8+ years in procurement, ideally with experience in manufacturing and project-based industries, and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in RFP management, supplier negotiation, and contract development.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Experience collaborating with project teams, engineering, and operations on sourcing strategies and timelines.
- Proficient with ERP systems and procurement tools (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with direct and indirect spend across manufacturing and capital projects, preferred.
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement and supplier risk management practices, preferred.
