Position Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for executing all inbound receiving activities, including inspection, documentation, and system transactions. In addition to primary receiving duties, this role supports material handling/water spiders, inventory control, and outbound shipping to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional teamwork is essential.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Match shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record receipts in ERP system.
- Label and stage incoming materials for storage, production, or direct use.
- Communicate any discrepancies or damaged goods to purchasing or quality teams.
- Maintain documentation and ensure traceability of received materials.
- Deliver materials, components, and packaging to production lines.
- Retrieve and return unused or excess materials from production ("show returns").
- Maintain proper staging of materials and keep work areas organized.
- Assist with daily and scheduled cycle counts.
- Support root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with picking, packing, and staging of outbound shipments.
- Verify shipment contents and documentation.
- Support timely handoff to carriers or internal logistics teams.
- Ensure accurate transactions and proper labeling during storage and movement of goods.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and transactions.
