Wasserman Creative is seeking a skilled communicator with sharp writing skills for the role of Social Media Manager. This role will support one key account, a Fortune 500 client focused in the sport and culture space.
We’re looking for a culturally fluent social media manager who lives at the intersection of sports, streetwear, and sneaker culture. If you’re the one in your group chat who always knows what’s happening—on the court, in the tunnel, and across the timeline—you’ll thrive in this role. You’ve got a sharp editorial eye, a knack for translating complex moments into scroll-stopping social content, and the instincts to move fast when the moment calls for it.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing daily content for social channels, writing original posts that speak authentically to the audience, communicating directly with clients, and working closely with external and internal teams to ensure alignment with larger brand narratives. You’ll also track emerging trends, identify timely cultural moments worth engaging in, and serve as the team’s go-to source for what’s relevant and resonating in sports culture—in and out of the game.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage content and schedule/publish across platforms.
- Assist in establishing a strategic long-term social content calendar.
- Assist in ongoing planning for upcoming key moments for the brand and reactive opportunities
- Directly engage with consumers on client channels like Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- Support account with content curation, distribution, and engagement.
- Remain up-to-date on trending content, conversations, news, cultural events, and engaging social formats.
- Real-time monitoring of social channels to identify strategic opportunities and flag potential issues.
- Lead weekly check-ins with clients and keep them updated on content reviews and asset requests.
Requirements:
- 2-4+ years of agency-side or brand experience developing social media creative, editing copy, and engaging with an audience
- A Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Flawless spelling and grammar
- Familiar with community management/scheduling tools (Sprinklr experience preferred) and native platforms (i.e. Meta Creative Studio)
- Sports & Culture obsessed
- Extensive knowledge of social media best practices
- Extensive knowledge of sports and the vernacular used around them
- Extensive knowledge of streetwear and sneaker culture
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Keynote, Slack, Box
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience communicating with clients on a day-to-day basis
- Innate curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit
- Commitment to excellence — working nonstandard hours when necessary, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy, identifying emerging platforms and trends to drive innovation
Base salary range: $68-75K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
