Wasserman Marketing is looking for a motivated individual to join a Brands Retainer Client team for a key technology client. This position is responsible for managing various aspects of the client’s partnership portfolio and will support account team members with partner management, project coordination, client /reporting and presentations, and the implementation of timelines and budgets. The successful candidate will respond to client requests and is expected to consistently provide excellent client service, as well as represent client needs and goals to ensure partnership objectives are met.
This role may be based in Los Angeles, LA, New York, NY or Raleigh, NC. Candidates must be willing to relocate if they are not currently based in one of these cities.
Duties:
- Lead the day-to-day management of client’s partnership with a major sports league, including fulfilling contracted assets, overseeing creative approvals, executing activations, and addressing incoming requests.
- Support the development of marketing strategies and partnership activation plans to deliver on client brand and business objectives
- Project manage campaign deployment and partnership activation by creating work-back plans, tracking deliverables, managing timelines and budgets.
- Manage and support talent strategy, including outreach, negotiation, and asset fulfillment, while ensuring alignment with partnership creative guidelines and activation requirements.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders across league, team, and talent partners to ensure alignment, high-quality service, and successful partnership execution.
- Serve as a key point of contact for client communications—proactively anticipating challenges, offering effective solutions, and acting as a subject matter expert on all partnership creative guidelines and other activation guardrails.
- Stay informed on partnership and media trends, cultural shifts, and the broader entertainment landscape - with a specific focus on talent, team, and league-wide initiatives - to inform strategic recommendations.
- Guide other team members in client service, project execution, and relationship building, while supporting senior leadership in strategy development and onboarding, training, and development efforts.
- Identify and present strategic opportunities that support client goals and deliver best-in-class results.
- Develop and refine client deliverables such as presentations, POVs, reports, and other strategic materials.
- Ensure quality standards, operational processes, and timelines are consistently met across all client projects.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years work experience in marketing and project management (sports and entertainment industry preferred).
- Up-to-date knowledge of the sports and entertainment industry.
- Experience working with professional sports leagues, teams, and talent.
- Experience working with talent agencies and marketing representatives.
- Comfortable negotiating endorsement deals with high-profile talent, with the ability to maintain strong relationships with important stakeholders throughout.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Must be able to multi-task and self-manage to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
- Must be flexible and comfortable to assume multiple roles as needed by the team.
- Possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Able to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Ability to think creatively in a team environment.
- Must be flexible and react calmly under stressful circumstances.
- Comfortable with extended days/nights, especially during busy periods of partnership activation.
- Willingness to travel when necessary
Base salary range: $65-78K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
